Our Upholstery cleaning Melbourne Service
At Black Gold we clean your valuable furniture with care. Usually we recommend you clean your lounge and other upholstered furniture at least once a year. Steam cleaning is our preferred and recommended method of cleaning for upholstery. Steam cleaning “washes” all of the fibres and extracts the dirt and excess moisture. Some other methods only wipe over the surface fibres and they are best used as a maintenance clean to spruce up the fabric between steam cleans.
- Pre treat any stains/spots
- Pre spray upholstery
- gentle agitation with soft brush
- Hot water extraction (steam cleaning)
- Gently brush/groom fabric
To help prevent stains between cleaning, we recommend fabric protection. This service is available at an additional cost.
As we are fully qualified, we know how best to care for your furniture. Of course, it is important to check the manufacturer’s care label before undertaking any method of cleaning. While steam cleaning is suitable for most upholstery, our technicians will always do a pre inspection. This is to determine if steam cleaning is suitable for your upholstery. Regular cleaning will not only make your chairs and sofas look better, but it also prolongs their life and keeps them smelling fresh and clean.
The price of fabric upholstery cleaning, depends how many seats are cleaned not how many pieces of furniture. We price, couches, sofas and lounge suites depending on the number of seats: one seater, two seater, three seater and so on. For a chaise lounge attached to a sofa, we usually count the chaise as 1.5 – 2 seats.
Removal of stains such as ink, blood, rust, pet stains, coffee, etc. is an additional cost. Most times, we will need to see the stains to quote on them accurately and to determine if they can be removed.
How long does the cleaning take?
Usually a 3-4 seater sofa will take around 1 hour to clean, depending on the condition of the fabric. Upholstery cleaning will take around 2-6 hours to dry depending on the type of fabric e.g. micro suede can take a little longer to dry than synthetic/cotton blends.
Do you also clean Office chairs and furniture?
Office chairs and dining chairs also benefit from regular cleaning. These types of chairs usually have a lower cleaning price point, than lounge chairs. Chairs with back and base are slightly higher in price than those with just a fabric base.
